Growing Successful Talent

Empowering people through specialized programs, graduate development, career coaching, and employability workshops.

“give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”

I have always been an advocate of empowering people so that we help them develop the skills, ability and have the freedom to pursue their dreams and ambitions. Therefore it was absolutely crucial that TBH Consultancy pursued this endeavor rigorously. We work selectively with people who are equally passionate as ourselves about the development of human capital in the region to offer our clients a series of unique and powerful programs.

I have been fortunate enough to have worked with universities and a number of institutions throughout the years to put together and deliver a series of training workshops to students and graduates across the country to enable them to pursue their careers.

  • Employability programs and workshops for Job-seekers
  • We design and run ‘graduate development’ programs for new joiners
  • Career-Coaching and Mentoring programs
  • Headhunting of the most suitable talent for employers

Besides the above, I also deliver workshops to universities and colleges, the most popular of these are:

  • ’10 Lessons I learned in 2009; Entrepreneurship, Employment and Leadership’.
  • The ‘Jobseeker’s Survival Kit for the UAE Job market’

One of the things I realised during the career fair is that next to finding the right job, Jobseekers really wanted someone who can listen to them, understand their needs and provide guidance.

I know this can be a lot of work and take up a lot of time to many employers, but if you are looking at building trust with your audience and subsequently attract talent that are genuinely interested in working for you, my advice is; listen more and share your story more often.

Dealing with Failure or Winning

Failure hurts! That's natural. But I find myself dealing with failure with the attitude of a patient 'monk' who sees the good in each experience. I also find myself dealing with failure with the curiousity of a student of the game and the confidence of a winner. Speaking of winning, winning can be the sweetest experience but it can be dangerous most of the time. Why? Because many people tend to be blindsided by winning. Many also tend to become comfortable when they are ahead of the game. Keeping that hunger and tenacity that got you this far becomes difficult.

As for the client we lost. Well, as the saying goes: You win some, and you lose some. We won a new client this week and of course the lessons and experience to treat them better.
